The regulations that guide research activities involving human participants—the so-called “common rule” (45 CFR 46)--was substantially revised in 2018. Changes include the addition of the "exemption category," a clarification of the types of reviews that IRBs can conduct, and several modifications of the required "elements" of consent.

Join the Faculty Hub and Don Forsyth, IRB Chair, for a presentation summarizing these revisions, how they might impact your research project, and their implications for changes in UR's IRB procedures.
