Teaching and Scholarship Hub

This two-day institute is designed to support new faculty as they prepare for teaching at the University of Richmond. Participants will engage with a range of topics essential to their teaching roles, including effective use of Blackboard and classroom technology, key university policies (such as FERPA and mandatory reporting), and strategies for supporting students in academic and personal distress. The institute will also introduce approaches to course and syllabus design, lesson planning, and inclusive pedagogy, along with an overview of digital teaching tools and available campus resources. Opportunities for campus tours and collegial connection are also included.

The institute will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Monday, August 18, and from 9:00 to noon on Tuesday, August 19 (with plenty to time to get to New Faculty Orientation!). Lunch is available both days for those who register here.
