Going Public Day Panel 2: Public-Facing Grant Possibilities
Funding opportunities for research and programming that incorporate public scholarship are growing across many disciplines. While traditional scholarly research and publishing remain essential, funders are increasingly interested in supporting projects that connect with the public during and beyond the grant period, such as partnering with communities to understand a problem or gather data, holding a public forum or workshop, or sharing research findings publicly through digital or print content developed for a broad audience. Join the UR Grants team to discuss key public scholarship funding opportunities and learn how our office can support your application process.
We will be joined by two UR faculty members, Patrick Martin (Computer Science) and David Salisbury (GES), will share how grant-funded public scholarship helped expand awareness and impact for their own research.
Hosted by Tara Wiley and Emily Griffey Ewees, FCGR
Following Panel 2, drop-in one-on-one consultations will be available from 12:50 to 1:15 p.m.
Going Public Day features a series of sessions designed to help faculty imagine new audiences for their scholarship. Throughout the day, speakers will share ways of bringing academic ideas into broader conversations. Click here to view the full schedule.
