SpiderAI for Careers: Playing with the Idea of Cognitive Internships
Please join ACS/Mellon fellows Mimi Hanaoka and Olivier Delers for a one-hour workshop titled “SpiderAI for Careers: Playing with the Idea of Cognitive Internships.” A cognitive internship is an assignment in which students step into a professional role and try out the kind of thinking that happens in that field—for example, acting as a marketing consultant helping a small organization reach a new audience, a policy analyst preparing a short brief, or a communications specialist shaping a public message. These activities build on the analytical and interpretive work we already do in our courses, but place it in a real-world context. AI can help simulate these situations and serve as a brainstorming partner, while students still rely on their disciplinary knowledge and judgment. This will be a hands-on session: bring your laptop and come ready to experiment."
This workshop is intended for all faculty and staff who work with students. We hope to bring together people who engage with AI in a variety of ways, including those who have never used AI before.
