The What & Why of Specifications Grading

Join the Faculty Hub for an interactive session exploring the What & Why of Specifications Grading.

Throughout the session, we will:

  • Explain specifications grading and why a growing number of faculty find it to be a powerful and productive alternative to traditional grading models.
  • Identify common benefits and challenges that students and faculty experience in specifications graded courses
  • Articulate how specifications grading can align with a pedagogy of care and more compassionate, equitable assessment practices by promoting clarity, reducing anxiety, and supporting student autonomy.
  • Discuss with colleagues how specifications grading might be adapted (or not) to fit your unique discipline/teaching contexts

Lunch for participants will be available around 12:00 p.m.
